I know I haven't blogged in forever, and for a short time, I thought I was going to quit. But I found some time tonight and decided not to give up on the blog world just yet. I know people have just been waiting in suspense for me to post something. :) We have had a very busy fall with football season, class reunions, weddings, etc. Below are some pictures from as far back as early September. I will try to do better over the holidays.....but I make no promises. :)

Oak Hill Academy class of 2000 reunion. We had a great time celebrating with Bailey's graduating class of 2000 for their ten year reunion. They rented out the back room at Anthony's and had a band. So much fun!

We have spent lots of time in Starkville this fall doing the football thing. It has been a great season, and we have enjoyed every minute. I just love Starkville!!!

Here are some of the pictures I promised to update. We went to the lake with the Bakers at the beginning of August and had the best time. Here are a few pics.

Busy isn't even the word for how my life has been since school started. Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but I just keep forgetting to post until someone reminds me that I haven't posted since July. Here are some pictures of George lately. I promise to catch up soon.

Since football season began, we have been spending a lot of time in West Point at Nonna and Hal's house. Here are a few sweet pictures of George having fun in West Point.

Atlanta 4th of July Trip

For Father's Day, I surprised Bailey with tickets to see his favorite band Phish in Atlanta. He has loved this band since I have known him, and he has about a million cd's, itunes, and music DVD's of theirs. Since he has listened to them for so long, I, by association, have grown to first tolerate and now actually even like their music. So when I heard they were coming to Atlanta, I decided to surprise him with tickets for not one but two nights of Phish. Bailey's dad's two sisters and brother all live in the Atlanta area, so we decided to make a mini vacation out of it. The picture above is at the concert with our good friends Jack and Missy. We had so much fun seeing them. We took George with us (not to the concert of course), and he got to visit with family while we did the concert thing. We went to the Georgia Aquarium which is amazing and had the best time visiting with the Menetre side of the family who we don't get to see enough. It was a great little getaway. Here are a few pics.

We had a great trip to the beach this year. George loves ALL water, so he liked the ocean and loved the pool. We went with both mine and Bailey's families, so it was a blast to get to spend time with both. I would live at the beach I think. (Minus the tar balls that came at the end of the week. :(

Last week my friend Ashley and I took the kids to play in the fountain at Fairpark. George absolutely loved it. There was no "getting used to it" period at all. He just jumped right in with the big kids. His no fear attitude scares me at times. But it was so much fun to watch him play!!

My mom and I took George with us to the mall on Sunday. He experienced a few firsts such as the carousel and the play park. He had a ball. I will definitely be taking him to the mall on rainy days this summer to entertain him.

He had a love/ hate relationship with the carousel.

But he ended up doing fine and even giggling a little.

The play park was his favorite though. I was a little nervous because of all the big kids playing, but they did not bother George at all. He thought he was just as big if not bigger.

He is the sweetest little thing!!!

That I haven't blogged in a while? Well, the last time I posted was right after Easter, and if you look back at that post, you see that George started walking on Easter Sunday. So as you can understand, we have been full speed ahead ever since. With the end of school and trying to get 88 seniors graduated and trying to keep up with this wild man, I have had my hands full. But I have posted an annoying amount of pictures to catch you up on Baby George...who is really not a baby anymore and I can't stand it!!!

Last Saturday afternoon, we played outside for awhile, and since we have had so much rain, there were still some mud puddles on our street. He found them and there was no turning back. He is 100 percent all boy and thoroughly enjoyed getting as dirty as possible. He wanted to completely lie down in the mud puddle while he squealed with excitement. It was pretty cute so hear are some pics.

I am still trying to make this outfit look normal again. :) The Clorox 2 isn't cutting it.

George also (pre mud-caked body and outfit) decided to help his Daddy mow the yard.

He even mowed the sidewalk. He was quite proud of himself.

Easter Weekend

This Easter was a big one for the Menetre family. George got his first big boy haircut. We went to church and ate lunch with my family, and George finally started officially walking. He has been taking steps for awhile, but Sunday afternoon we went to the park to let him play. He must have not liked the way the mulch/ gravel felt on his knees when he was crawling, so he just stood up and walked, and has been walking ever since. Everyone told me that one day he would just decide he could do it, and they were exactly right. It is the cutest thing. I could watch him toddle around for hours!!

I am still getting used to life without the baby mullet. He looks sweet with his big boy hair, and I knew it was time to cut it because it got caught every time I tried to fasten his bib. It was also rather funny (and I wish I had a picture) when it was wet. It literally went down his back. Abby let me save some of his sweet curls. Maybe they will grow back. I can only hope so!! Happy Easter, everyone! I thank the Lord for what He did for us, and for all his many, many blessings.

This picture was taken last Sunday after we went to lunch with Bailey's family at Old Waverly. After he finished his lunch, he was being a little unruly so I took him outside to walk around. Some golfers were coming in to eat lunch, and they stopped and looked at him in his little bubble (with knee socks keep in mind, not tights) and said to me, "She sure is cute, but I hope her little legs don't get cold." This is only about the tenth time lately someone has mistaken him for a girl, and when I correct them, they always get so embarrassed so I decided to take a different approach. I responded, "You're right, I don't want her to get cold." And I took him back inside with the resolve to get a hair appointment first thing Monday morning. We will be getting it cut today at 2:30. I held on to his sweet long curls as long as I possibly could. I will post pictures later, and hopefully, soon people will know he is a boy.

The other day I couldn't find George. I could hear him playing, and it only lasted a second. But soon enough I found him playing under the kitchen table. He loved the obstacle course that all the chairs and parts of the table provided. He was thoroughly entertained. So funny.

My Dad had his birthday party on February 27. We cooked steaks and had dinner at my house. I took my first stab at making a homemade cake, and guess what? It wasn't a disaster. It wasn't the best thing I ever tasted, but it looked decent. Happy birthday to my sweet Dad!!!

This weekend was very busy for me but also tons of fun. Friday night was Tupelo's Junior Auxiliary Charity Ball. We went with a group of our friends and had a blast.

I go in with great intentions and then barely even think about snapping a picture. Oh well, at least I got a couple from the night.

Saturday night I went to Memphis with a group of my girlfriends from college to see Jersey Boys at the Orpheum. It was so much fun to see everyone, but this time, I did even worse with the picture taking. I ended up taking only one picture at dinner of Haaga and me (which I am so glad I got because she and I have not made a picture in way too long) . I miss all my sweet friends so much, so I really enjoyed the much needed girls night.

George went to a one year old birthday party for his little friend Sadie Roper on Saturday at this place called "Go" we have in Tupelo. "Go" is this gym like place where kids can go and do rock wall climbing, gymnastic type things, and anything else that involves mats and games, etc. They do a really great job with birthday parties, and George had sooo much fun playing with everything in the entire gym. The above picture was of the last party George was invited to at "Go" when he was about five months old I think. He couldn't even sit up yet. Things were a little different this time.....

This year our school district adopted a 1:1 Macintosh laptop initiative. Our district had a big assembly before Christmas where they announced we would be getting these computers, and the seniors got theirs this week. I teach seniors, and they are the only students who get their computers this school year. The other schools and grades will get their computers at the beginning of next school year. It is really amazing to see all my seniors using Macbooks in class. I guess I have a 21st century classroom now!! I thought they looked cool and smart with their computers, so I snapped a picture to share with the blogging world.

Our dear friends Caroline McNeel and Jimbo Hearnsberger got married at the end of January. Bailey and Jimbo were roomates in college and Sigma Chis together. Bailey was in the wedding, and it was such a fun weekend. Caroline was a beautiful bride, and everything about the wedding and the reception was beautiful. Congrats to the Hearnsbergers!!! Snow Day

We had the most fun snow day last Thursday. We got to stay home from school which was so fabulous since the first week back from Christmas was already wearing on me a bit. George and I had a blast playing all day in the house and outside in the snow. Above is a picture of Carter and him. Sweet little snow angels!!!

I bundled George up and took him over to Holly and Luke's house in the Cozy Coupe. He loved it. During our visit though, the temp dropped tremendously, and we had to park the coupe and catch a ride home later in the day. Brrrr!

My two neighbors across the street have little boys very close to George's age. Meg and Christopher, Jessica and Jacob, George, and me could not miss the opportunity for such a cute photo of the babies in the snow. These little boys all go to the same babysitter, and we can't wait for them to ride bikes up and down the street!

Twas the night before Christmas and all through our house

Not a creature was stirring….not even a mouse.

Well, Susie and Casey were stirring……

They knew something was weird…

They thought that Santa was supposed to have a beard.

Instead what they found was their mom and their dad.

Buying batteries and putting together toys like mad!!

When it was all done it was quite a sight to see.

Everyone was ready for Christmas including Me!

I cannot believe this little fellow is already almost a year old. Where has the time gone? George is still pulling up on everything in sight and is into everything in the house. He isn't walking yet, but I feel like it will be soon. He stands with one hand and cruises around the furniture like a pro. He is 100 percent all boy all the time. He loves to open and clothes doors, climb stairs, and climb into the dog cage (I promise it is clean). He also loves to eat. He loves to snack, and when you take him to a restaurant, he is perfect as long as you provide him some goodies to snack on. His favorite right now is plain Cheerios. You can see above that he loves them. He also loves a nice and sticky banana. We have to strip him down for these. He says Mamama, Da da da, Go Go Go, Bye Bye Bye (with his wave). Uh Oh is one of his favorites, and he loves to drop things on purpose just so he can say it. He has also learned to mimick his mommy when she tells him no! It's pretty funny, but I have to learn not to laugh when he does this. We are enjoying him every day and are so blessed to have this little man in our lives. We can't wait to spend Christmas with him and then to celebrate his first birthday in January!!

We took George to see Santa at Old Waverly for the annual Santa Brunch. We had a great lunch, a great time and took lots of pictures of the babies, but nothing could make George a Santa fan. Hopefully, this will change, but for now, George is just fine without sitting in Santa's lap.

We took George to his very first Christmas parade a few Saturdays ago. He had a great time despite the cold weather. He especially loved any marching band that came by. After the parade, we went to sweet little Sarah Baker's first birthday party. George had a great time playing with Sarah's birthday toys, Jamie's Christmas tree, and all the other babies at the party.

We were in West Point on Friday after Thanksgiving, so we decided to go shopping at some of the stores at Mossy Oak. We went to Outdoor Gear to do some shopping, and George found a swinging chair and a canoe that he really liked.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving break. Bailey and I had our birthdays; we saw our families; we visited with old friends, and we got to watch the Bulldogs win the Egg Bowl. I can't think of a better way to spend the holidays. We have so much to be thankful for this year especially our healthy, happy little man who we love to pieces!! Now it's back to the grind for two more weeks of class, a week of exams, and then two weeks off for Christmas holidays. Can't wait!! I love this time of year. Happy holidays, everyone!!

We took George to his first MSU football game this weekend. I have been really nervous about taking him because he gets upset sometimes when he hears loud noises. Yesterday I was blow drying my hair, and the noise made him cry, for example. Well, it turns out that even the loudest of cowbells doesn't bother my baby. He did great at the tailgate and at the ballgame. He even made it until halftime, and it was a six o'clock game. He was in awe of the crowds and the noise. I was pleasantly surprised and proud of my little man. I think we have a future bulldog on our hands.

Tonight Bailey, George and I, went downtown to the Tupelo Downtown Trick or Treat where you visit the local businesses, and they have open house. There are themes for each store, and they give out candy and refreshments, etc. It's a really cute idea, and George had a great time. However, before we went we made a stop by my friend Wurth's parents' house. Wurth's mom Patty teaches with me at THS, and she really gets into the Halloween spirit by dressing up as a witch. Not only does she dress the part, she has this voice that is actually quite scary. It is hilarious. Patty, I mean the witch, sits on her front porch while her husband BB runs the smoke machine behind her. He has the basket of candy so, if you can get through the super scary witch, then you can have some candy. Let's just say BB's basket was full!! That was the scariest witch I have ever seen. The Hosch's are going to be out of town for the weekend, so Patty let everyone know the witch would be out tonight. When Bailey and I pulled into the neighborhood there were kids everywhere dressed in their Halloween costumes. I told him surely they couldn't all be going to see the witch. Yep.....they were!! It was awesome, and I love that they get into Halloween the way they do!! It was so much fun. George didn't get scared of the witch; he just looked at her very curiously as you can see in the picture. I am sure he will change his tune in the years to come. Most of the kids in the neighborhood were terrified. As we were walking up to the house, the children were telling us, " I wouldn't go up there if I were you!" They were very serious about it. I love it!!! Here are some of the pics.

George got chickenpox the weekend of MSU homecoming. We had a very light case, so we were very lucky. He had no fever and no itching that we noticed. He was a little fussy, and as you can see in the above and below pictures, a little more tired than usual. I fed him and left the room to go get a wipe to wipe off his face, and when I came back, this is what I found. He has never fallen asleep in his high chair, so I knew he wasn't himself. He still has a few bumps left but has made a full recovery.

George is crawling!! He is not just army crawling anymore. He is full fledged, wide-open everywhere!! We are babyproofing everything as we go. He is also trying to pull up on everything in sight. Life is definitely different with a mobile little man!!

I have also included some pictures from the weekend. Bailey's family came over for the GA Tech game. Bailey's first cousin is a student at Tech, and they stopped by to see George for a minute. Bailey and I took a trip last week and weekend to Quebec City, Quebec in Canada. Bailey won the trip through work. We stayed in one of the oldest and most beautiful places I have ever seen, met some great people, and even spoke a little French while we were at it. We really missed George, and I even got a little teary one night when were out at a pub and saw a little one about his age with his parents. We went to this pub with hopes to find the State/ Vandy game on television.(Because every Canadian wants to watch MSU football, right?) But Bailey and I and another faithful State fan that was with us on the trip, went to about five different pubs, and surprise surprise.....all hockey... and no SEC football. We had a great time in the process of finding the game though.

Quebec City, is probably as close as you can get to going to Europe without crossing the Atlantic. Even though it was freezing cold....40's and 50's most days with biting wind....we had a wonderful time. We took tours, walked up and down three thousand hills, ate our weight in French type food (think wine, bread, and cheese), and just took in the culture of one of the neatest places I have ever been!!

This is the spot where they filmed the ending scene in the movie Catch Me if You Can. Speilberg didn't want to change continents, so he saved money and just simulated Europe in the heart of Quebec City. It would be very easy to do there.

George has changed so much in the last few weeks. He has two brand new teeth that literally came in overnight. He is army crawling everywhere, and we are kind of baby proofing as we go. I can't take my eyes off him for a second because he is so busy and into everything. It is amazing the difference a mobile baby makes in your life. Tonight he was taking a bath, and he literally started to try to climb out of the tub. He is one wild little man who gets sweeter by the day!!

We had such a fun weekend in West Point this weekend for Carter's (George's first cousin) christening and sip and see. We got to see lots of friends and family. I got tons of pictures of the babies (as you can see above). Carter looked beautiful in her christening gown, and a good time was had by all.

Besides that, we are just getting back into the swing of school life right now at our house. It takes some time, but we are getting there. I am teaching online at ICC this semester too, so I am one busy gal at the moment. I will try to keep the blog going though. September will be a big month with lots going on. We have our first home MSU game next weekend which I am super pumped about! We are going on a trip to Quebec City, Canada later this month. Also, my ten year high school reunion is at the end if the month. So hopefully there will be lots of new pictures and stories soon. Everyone have a blessed week!!

Bailey and I seem to be always on the go. It is very rare that we have consecutive weekends at home. This is our second weekend at home in a row, and I have to say that sometimes doing nothing at all on the weekend is absolutely the best. It causes me to sit back and look at the simple things in my life that make it so sweet. For the last two weekends we have gotten to have friends over, go to church, visit with family, and just be home as a family together. It has been wonderful. It is so funny to think that we have lived in Tupelo for over a year now. We have really fallen into place here, and even though I wasn't sure about the move at first. I am absolutely positive that this is where we are supposed to be, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I cannot believe how fast time flies, how big George is (He's 7 months old today!!), and how much a year (and a baby) can change your life. The summer has flown by as it usually does, and I go back to school tomorrow. It will be a new kind of year teaching seniors, but I am not dreading it too bad. I will probably change my tune in the morning when that alarm goes off. Have a great week, everyone!!

Some people might call this a comb over.

I always brush George's hair after our bath. It stays parted and cute for about ten minutes, and then it's back to the way it always is. But he has such thin hair, that it looks like an old man comb over when we first brush it.

I guess it's probably time to discontinue the bouncy seat if..

A. it leans back so far due to his weight that it is more like a bouncy hammock now. (see pillows we have to use to hold it up so he can at least see the t.v.)

B. As soon as you sit him in the seat, he sits up straight as you see in the picture.

Please excuse the unmade bed; it was Saturday morning. George was dressed, but that was as far as I had gotten.

This is the face he makes EVERY time I turn on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Mickey comes walking over the hill and says, "Hey everybody. It's Mickey Mouse!" He cares nothing for Donald, Goofy, Daisy, and Minnie. He kind of likes Pluto, but mostly has eyes for Mickey. I think we should probably go ahead and start saving for Disney World trips.

Bailey and I went out to lunch on Saturday afternoon and took our little man. Of course, this gave me a reason to dress him up. You can imagine the look on Bailey's face when he walked in ready to put him in the car and saw this little get up. He said that this hat was borderline feminine, and we were going to need to take that hat off before we took him in public. No fun at all!! So I made sure to take lots of pictures so the blog world could at least see how cute he was.

My baby refuses to take long naps!! I try so hard to get him on a napping schedule, but he fights sleep like nothing I have ever seen. He would much rather practice his crawling skills in his crib than actually nap in it.

There isn't much going on with us lately, but I wanted to post some new pictures for my faithful viewers. George weighs 20 plus pounds. His carrier is next to impossible to carry with him inside. I bought a grocery store basket cover the other day, because the carrier days are numbered for this little guy.

He is trying desperately to crawl. He gets so close to getting up on all fours, and then he tumbles. He finds this very frustrating. I am enjoying these last few weeks of him not being exactly mobile. I know that life will really change once that happens.

We are making our way through the baby foods. George is a very good eater...obviously. The only thing we've found that he doesn't like is carrots. He even likes the green beans.

I have one more week before I have to go back to work, so I am looking forward to spending my time with George. Where did the summer go?

It seems like since he has turned six months old, George is growing and changing nonstop. He does new things everyday. He is so busy and full of energy. I cannot believe how much he is changing all the time!!!! The picture above shows George looking like he usually does these days...with a few fingers in the mouth. He loves to chew them. We have no teeth yet, but lots of teething signs.

Here is the birthday boy Mitchell with George. They are exactly six months apart. Mary Stewart, Ashley, Susannah, and I tried really hard to get all of our babies on the couch for a group baby pic. This is as close as we got. Maybe one day we can get them to all sit still together for a few minutes for a group shot. Mitchell's party was a lot of fun, and we are so glad Mitchell and George will grow up together. Happy Birthday, Mitchell!!

Since George has learned to sit up, bathtime is not only so much easier, it is also a lot more fun for George. We got him some bath toys, and he loves to splash and play. He thinks the rubber duckies are something to eat and chew, but they are fun nonetheless!!

Like I said, no teeth yet, but we sure love our teething ring. I am looking for one to pop out any day now.

Today "Saturday" I was sitting home with George, and I was noticing just how busy this little boy is these days. I had strolled him; he had played in his exersaucer, and we had played with every toy that we have. I decided he needed something new to put all of his energy into. So I went to Toys r Us and bought him this jumparoo. He was a little unsure of it at first, but once he realized he could bounce around, he was thoroughly entertained.

We went over to visit my friend Shelly Roper and her little girl Sadie on Monday. They are one month apart. Shelly and I have been friends since we were this age, so it's fun to get the kids together.

George was not afraid of either the sand or the waves splashing him. He loved it.

He was very interested in the sand....and whether or not it tasted good. :)

Last week we took our annual family beach trip to Gulf Shores. My family and extended family (my dad's side) have been making this trip since I was two and staying in the same house. We actually stay out on Fort Morgan, and since my family has long since outgrown the house, we stay in a condo that is very close to the house. It is so much fun to get together with cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents during this time every year. I was so nervous about the long car ride down there, but George did fine. He loves to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. The child smiles and squeals anytime Mickey is on the screen, so we took a DVD for the car, and it was a life saver. George did really well, I think, as a five month old at the beach. He was neither scared of the sand, nor the water. I will probably have my hands completely full next year. He loves to splash in any kind of water, and the sand didn't bother him at all. The sun, however, absolutely zapped him every day, and he took more naps than I have ever seen him take. But hey, he was on vacation!! We really enjoyed our time with him at the beach. He is back at the babysitter today, and is probably giving her fits. He was quite spoiled after being with my family for seven days. We had a wonderful time, but by the end of the trip, I was ready to get him home and back on his little schedule.

When Bailey and I got back from the wedding on Sunday afternoon, we took George swimming for the first time. He absolutely loves the water! I was a little nervous, but he floated in his little float, splashed, laughed, squealed, and even skinny dipped!! It was so much fun to watch his first little water experience. Bailey was in Cody Chew's wedding this weekend in Philadelphia. We stayed at the casino all weekend and had such a great time. We got to see tons of old friends. The Exersaucer is the best invention in the world. This thing can keep him occupied for very long periods of time. He LOVES it. I had a friend tell me that once babies are mobile, you can kiss it goodbye....so we are starting early. Bailey and I love to watch him figure out how to play with all the little toys. He looks so big in there because his feet touch the ground. He is learning how to maneuver and turn it around. It is amazing to watch him discover things. He is growing up way too fast!!

Today was a very special day four our family. George was christened, and we joined our church in Tupelo today. The whole family came on both of our sides, and we had a big lunch at my house afterwards. It was a great day, and we feel very blessed to have joined this church family. It has played a big part in our feeling at home here in Tupelo. It was wonderful to have all of our loved ones with us on such a special day.

I haven't posted in a few weeks because life has been quite busy with trying to get finished up with school. A very short and to the point update in my life is that the day before school was out my principal gave me the news that I would be teaching seniors next year. I have been teaching mostly 9th and 10th during my five year teaching career, and I have never taught seniors. So this was a big shocker for me. This also meant I had to move my room...again!! After moving schools last summer, this was not a fun thing. I am all moved now though and have a stack up books about a foot and half high that I have to read for the summer. I was supposed to teach a summer school class online for ICC. I found out yesterday that it didn't make. So I officially have the summer completely off. God has a plan for all, and I know that next year will work itself out, but I am nervous about a grade I've never taught.

We went to West Point for Memorial Day weekend for Brandon Toms and Megan Tinsley's wedding. We participated in all of the festivities...but we didn't get to play as much as we would have liked because we both had terrible sinus infections. I read on my friends Reed and Elizabeths' blogs that their babies both had their first colds that weekend. That's so funny, because Bailey and I caught out little colds from George as well. Poor guy, he couldn't breathe for about a week, and I had to learn to be a pro with the nose bulb clearer thing...which used to scare me to death. We did have a great time despite the sickness, and it was so nice to have the grandparents around for George when Bailey and I just needed to be sick and lie around. We took George with us to Brandon and Meg's wedding reception. He was not happy about it at all. I'm not sure if he was too hot, if it was too late, or if it was too loud. Bailey said he cried the whole time because I dressed him like a girl. Go figure. Here are a few pics from the weekend.

We went for George's four month checkup and shots this week. He weighs 17 pounds and 10 oz and has gained three pounds in a month!! What a chunk! We got a good report and the green light to start rice cereal.

We have had a busy last few weeks, and that's why I haven't posted. I am not really complaining because I am about to have the whole summer off, but the last few weeks of school for a teacher are pretty crazy. I have graded papers for now fewer than two hours each night after I have gotten home from work. So not fun. But I am completely finished with them now, and I am so ready for summer!! One more week of exams and I will be completely done!!

Saturday night, Luke, Holly (Bailey's sister), and Carter made their way all the way across the neighborhood for a cookout at our house. I think besides her checkup, this was baby Carter's first outing, so we took lots of pictures. We are so excited for these two to grow up together.

George's first day at our church in Tupelo was this Sunday. We left him in the nursery (first time for that too). I wasn't too worried but probably did stare at the pager during church a little too much. When we went to pick him up, he was sound asleep in a swing. Appendicitis

This week proved to be quite interesting. Tuesday afternoon I had a stomach ache at school. I thought I was coming down with a virus or something, but it just got worse and worse. By the time I made it home from school, I was in pain that was equal to contractions from labor. No joke! I called my mom and told her to come over, and told Bailey to go get George from the babysitter. By the time they both got to my house I decided it was time for the emergency room. After waiting for over an hour in the worst pain of my entire life, the doctor finally saw me and gave me some medicine. They did a CT scan and found that I had appendicitis and had to have surgery that night. So they took out my appendix around midnight Tuesday night. I have been taking it easy at home this week and am planning on going back to work Monday. But it definitely was not something I ever expected to happen to me. Thanks to everyone who called, prayed, sent texts, flowers, and food. I really appreciate it!! Life is slowly getting back to normal, and I hope it will stay that way for a while.

George's latest move...the crunch....he's working on his abs.

We went to Super Bulldog Weekend last weekend in Starkville. Bailey and I left George in West Point and went to Starkville Saturday morning. We browsed the arts festival, ate at the Grill, went to the baseball game and the football scrimmage, and then went out that night. We stayed with our friends Jimbo and Caroline. We had such a fun time. There's just something about Starkville in the springtime and the left field lounge that just makes me super happy inside!!! I've included some pics from the weekend...and of course some ones of George enjoying himself at the grandparents in West Point.

What a difference three months makes!!

What a sweet little man!! I think he looks like Jade.

Bailey had forgotten how tiny and light they are when you first bring them home.

Bailey and I drove to Amory tonight to see little Presley Gaskin. He was so teeny and such a beautiful little boy. It's so weird to see a baby that makes George look big. It's also amazing to see what a difference three months makes in babies!! It was great to see Jason and Jade and precious little Presley!! I can't wait for these little guys to be friends one day!!

I was hoping to have some really cute pictures to post of George in his Easter church outfit, but unfortunately Bailey and I both had the stomach virus and could not make it to Easter church. George had to go stay at Bailey's mom's because we were so sick. But we were so happy that he didn't get whatever we had. (or at least he hasn't yet). But here are a few pictures I took of him prior to Easter weekend. He is getting so big and doing new things all the time. He has discovered how much fun it is to suck on his hands. He can hold his head up really well now and even sits in the bumbo chair. He laughs out loud now, and the other day he rolled over from stomach to back. I know this is the easy roll over..but Mama was still proud!!

Pearce Pegram Toms

Congrats to our friends Reed and Ryan Toms on the birth of their precious baby boy Pearce!! Baby and Mommy are home and doing great!!

Also congrats to our friends Jason and Jade Gaskin on the birth of their new baby boy Presley!! I don't have pics of Presely yet, but I'm sure Jade will post some soon.

Bailey's family came to visit last week, and they brought his first cousin Lauren's son Hudson. Hudson is only a few months older than George so we introduced them. It's so funny to watch babies interact. Hudson was fascinated with George, and George just thought Hudson was funny. It was great to see Mary Ellen, Larry, Lauren, Kevin, and Hudson. We are so glad they came to visit!

We went to Booneville this Saturday to stay with my parents. Here are some pictures from the weekend and from George's first day at church. We went to church in Booneville with my parents. We took him into the sanctuary with us (to big church). I sat right by the exit because we all just knew he was going to cry and I was going to have to take him to the nursery. But he just smiled and then finally went to sleep. I think he liked all the noise of the organ and the singing. I was so proud of my little guy.

George and I took a trip to Corinth to visit Aunt Sara Beth and some other friends. Lindsey Newcomb was having a shower and engagement party, and so we got to see Amanda, LC, Lindsey, Tiffany, and Hillary. It was so fun to see these girls. We visited after Lindsey's shower at Sara's house, and then went on a shopping spree at Sara's mom's store Ginger's. If anyone is ever around this area, you should definitely make a point to go to Ginger's in Corinth. She has the greatest selection of baby stuff I have ever seen in a store. What I really love is that she has tons of boy stuff. Everywhere you go, there is always so much girl stuff, and not that much for the boys. She has a great selection for both. We had a great shopping trip, and I really enjoyed seeing my friends!!

Bailey and I spent most of our spring break (well, my spring break....he was working) in Jackson. We left Monday afternoon and came home Wednesday night of last week. We had the best time because we got to visit with lots of our dear friends. We stayed with Haaga and Patrick Monday night, and I finally got to meet precious Mac Michaelson. You will see the pictures of George and him above. I had such a great time visiting with Haaga. Being there made me miss all my friends terribly! Haaga had some people over Monday night, and we got to see Cathy and sweet little Claire, who, as you can see loves babies. Her mom has nothing to worry about with her new one on the way because Claire was all about helping with and loving on George. She was so sweet. We also got to stay with my aunt and uncle while we were there, and it was so great to see them too! We ended the week with a stay in Booneville and a crawfish boil at the Rhea's Saturday night (pictures above). Overall it was a great spring break with wonderful weather. It was hard to go back today, but it always seems that the 4th nine weeks flies by so I'm hoping for that. George started the babysitter's today and did great. His mom was a little teary after the drop off....but overall we both had a pretty good Monday. I love the ladies he is staying with, so I know he's in good hands.
