Sweet Mac and George posing for the camera.

Sweet little guys.

Bailey and I spent most of our spring break (well, my spring break....he was working) in Jackson. We left Monday afternoon and came home Wednesday night of last week. We had the best time because we got to visit with lots of our dear friends. We stayed with Haaga and Patrick Monday night, and I finally got to meet precious Mac Michaelson. You will see the pictures of George and him above. I had such a great time visiting with Haaga. Being there made me miss all my friends terribly! Haaga had some people over Monday night, and we got to see Cathy and sweet little Claire, who, as you can see loves babies. Her mom has nothing to worry about with her new one on the way because Claire was all about helping with and loving on George. She was so sweet. We also got to stay with my aunt and uncle while we were there, and it was so great to see them too! We ended the week with a stay in Booneville and a crawfish boil at the Rhea's Saturday night (pictures above). Overall it was a great spring break with wonderful weather. It was hard to go back today, but it always seems that the 4th nine weeks flies by so I'm hoping for that. George started the babysitter's today and did great. His mom was a little teary after the drop off....but overall we both had a pretty good Monday. I love the ladies he is staying with, so I know he's in good hands.

2 month checkup

Baby George is getting so big! We had our two month check up and shots on Friday, and he weighs 13.25 pounds and is 24 3/4 inches long! What a big boy! We were so surprised that he had grown so much. He got his shots and of course he cried, but thanks to all of our friends advice, he had Tylenol in his system, and he ended up doing really well. It didn't make that much difference in the rest of his day. I was proud of our little man.
On another note, I went back to work this week. It has been really hard leaving him every day, but the kids are keeping me really busy because it is exam week. They were all really sweet when I came back, asking all about George. I was glad to see most of them. ;) My mother and sister in law (Donna and Holly) are keeping him this week, and spring break is next week. So he actually won't go to the babysitter until after spring break. I am so grateful to be living close to family so we even have the option of family being able to keep him this week. I am easing back into the working world slowly. I know it will get easier with time!

Bailey's mom had a Sip and See for George this weekend. George got to meet lots of our dear family friends. It was a lot of fun and so great to see everyone that came by! We were in town for a wedding party and a shower too, so George also got to meet his Uncle Ryan Killingsworth and Jack Howard. He also got to see his good buddy Ryan Toms again! It was so great to see all of our good friends!

The Red and Blue Outfit!!

I was looking through baby George's closet last week trying to find something warm for him to wear before I took him on a few errands and to Booneville for the evening when I saw this Addidas track suit that someone had given us at a shower. I had to pick up a few things at Walgreens, where my brother is a pharmacist, so I had told Jesse I was going to drop by and that I would have George. He was excited, and told me to bring him to the back so he could show him off. Jesse's only request was that I didn't dress him in something girly. So when I came upon this Ole Miss colored outfit, I thought it only fitting to dress him up and take him to see his Uncle Jesse, the only person in our family who would appreciate the little Ole Miss colored outfit. I guess it's a good thing Bailey wasn't home because I'm not sure we would have made it out of the house in this. Being the State fan that he is, George still pulled off the look, don't you think? And Uncle Jesse loved the outfit!!

My son the ladies' man!

Elizabeth and George"Don't worry, Cheslea, if we just smile, they will stop taking all these pictures and blinding us with flashes!"
Cute little couple!

Yesterday we made a trip up to Memphis to see Liz and sweet little Cheslea. We were both amazed at how well they cooperated for our little photo session. It was so great to see them both, and George enjoyed posing with such a pretty little lady!! You can see from the pictures. These two little ones are only a week apart, and Liz and I know they will be friends one day at MSU.

Seven Weeks and Lots of Smiles! :)

The bride and groom to be (Rachel and Cody) at their engagement party in Philadelphia.
George with Big Mama - Bailey's mom

George and Susie napping in my lap. He put his arm around her. He's sorry that he steals all the attention from her. :)

Hangin with Dad.

The bouncy seat at Big Mama's is much more fun than ours at home. It has lots more lights and sounds. It was the hit of the weekend.

Hola!! This chair makes me look like I am wearing a sombrero!

I know it's been a few weeks since I posted, but here's what has been going on in our lives. George has started smiling and laughing. He started this at about six weeks, and it only seems to increase everyday. It sure is a lot easier to go in and feed and change him at three am when he gives you that big grin when you walk into the room. Then I totally forget that I am tired.(Until the next morning of course...and that's where my pot of black coffee that I drink everyday comes in :)
He is also sleeping in his crib now. This is something I thought would be very difficult for mommy and for baby. But it really has been very easy. He used to sleep in the pack n play in our room, and one night I just decided to try to put him down in there. I am pretty sure he didn't know the difference, but I was proud. My mom bought us one of those motion monitors, so I don't have to worry about if he stops breathing (because I do get up frequently during the night to check that)..I know..I am probably crazy.
George took his first trip to West Point this weekend and had a great time. Donna and Hal gave Bailey and me a much needed break and took the night shifts. We really appreciated it. Full nights of sleep are like gold these days. We also made a trip to Philadelphia for an enagement party for Cody and Rachel. We stayed at the casino that night, so we had a fun little getaway for the two of us.

This is my last week off of work for maternity leave. I will go back Monday the ninth, and then we will have the next week off for Spring Break. So I guess you could say I am easing into the working world again. I went up to the school yesterday and realized I am going to have to mentally prepare myself to be around my ninth graders again. I walked in and they were like, "Mrs. Menetre's not pregnant anymore!! Wow!!" I mean really....where did they think I'd been for two months! I will get used to them again, but it may take some time.

George gets his shots on Friday because he will be two months old. Two Months!! I cannot believe he has been here that long. It has flown by so fast. I am sure it will only continue to fly. People say that happens with kids.
